Charlotte Grierson Weaving Workshops at Cockpit Arts Deptford
Charlotte Grierson runs a programme of 1 and 2 day weaving workshops at Cockpit in Deptford. These are on a variety of structures aimed at developing your knowledge and confidence in weaving. These workshops give an opportunity to compare different versions of a structure where you will weave samples on pre-warped looms. You will learn in small groups of up to 6 people, and go home with an extensive handout and the samples you have woven. 1 day workshops £145 and 2 day workshop £280
Charlotte also runs a weekly class in 10 week terms on a Tuesday morning and 3 terms per year. This is a mixed ability class open to beginners and more experienced weavers alike. You will be allocated an 8 shaft table loom and can weave your own project or sample a technique or idea as you choose. A beginner will start the first term with a sampler; learning to make a warp and put it on the loom, and weaving a set of basic weave structures. £250 per term.
Charlotte is a weave designer and artist with over 20 years of weaving and teaching experience. She has a studio at Cockpit in Deptford. Whether creating wearable pieces, teaching others, or designing experimental works, she strives to push the limits of what weaving can achieve.
