Monthly Guild Meeting – Nettle Talk – BeeKay Makes
Nettles Still Have the Edge
Join Brigitte on a time travel through textile history, exploring how fibres from local plants can be transformed into cloth. I focus on nettles and flax as resilient, low impact fibre sources with deep historical roots and strong contemporary relevance. This talk explores the history and future of nettle fibre as a sustainable local material. It is illustrated with a slideshow, woven nettle samples, and a short nettle fibre extraction demonstration.
