Renewal and reinvention

Our exhibition celebrating 75 years of the London Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers will showcase new, contemporary textiles  including hand weaving, tapestry weaving, hand spinning, natural and synthetic dyeing, all by members of Guild.

We’ll be showing at the Morley Gallery, London,  10-23 November 2025.

Monday to Friday 12.00 – 5.00 pm      Saturday 1.00 – 5.00 pm

The exhibition will be forward looking and consist of recent works that demonstrate the contemporary value of heritage textile skills. You are invited to contribute work, on the theme of renewal and reinvention, including textiles that explore innovative approaches to traditional techniques as well as work that addresses contemporary concerns with climate change, sustainability and the reuse of waste. Alongside our display of our own contemporary textiles, we will be producing two professionally-designed roller banners of the guild’s timeline, with visually stimulating images, that explain the guild’s history and purpose to a non-guild audience.

Your work should have been made within the last five years, since 2020. We will endeavour to include all work, subject to limitations on space. You should assume a deadline for getting work to us of early October 2025.
